The Kremlin and one of the key figures in a leading bank in Russia have backed Vladimir Putin in the aftermath of claims that a number of people in his inner-circle were linked to the Panama Papers.

Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov has stated that the "insinuations" in the Panama Papers do not require any response from the Kremlin.

Paint was thrown over the Teebane Memorial in the early hours of the morning.

Two different colours of paint were thrown over the front of the monument.

Midlands paramedics vote to strike over rostering plans

Paramedics in the Midlands have voted to strike over plans to introduce core rostering.

The National Ambulance Service Representative Association (NASRA) say the system would enable management to change rosters at 24 hours notice.

They say this is unfair on already stressed paramedics, and may result in delayed response times.

Leicester and England striker Jamie Vardy has attacked Twitter trolls for their "shocking and vile" sexual threats against his one-year-old daughter.

The player's fiancee Rebekah Nicholson posted a photograph of their little girl on the social media site on Sunday evening, wearing the club's home shirt with "Daddy" emblazoned on the back.

Video footage has captured a mass eruption from an active volcano in Mexico.

Popocatépetl is located some 70kms south-east of the capital, Mexico City.

It is widely seen as the most active volcano in the country.
