UK Prime Minister Theresa May arrives in Dublin for talks with the Taoiseach
The UK Prime Minister has arrived at Farmleigh in Dublin’s Phoenix Park for talks with the Taoiseach.
Theresa May arrived for the talks just after 8pm this evening.
It is believed Mrs May arrived in Dublin with her chief of staff Gavin Barwell and her chief Brexit negotiator Olly Robbins.
Earlier Mr Varadkar warned that Brexit would not be up for debate at the meeting.
Varadkar has 'total confidence' in Simon Harris over children's hospital cost overrun
The Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has said he has total confidence in the Health Minister, Simon Harris.
It comes as documents show Minister Harris was aware of a possible €400m overrun at the national children's hospital in August last year, seven weeks before he told the Taoiseach or the Finance Minister Paschal Donohoe.
Mr Varadkar has said concerns about the impact that had on budget planning are a red herring - as capital expenditure was decided last February.
He said even if Mr Harris had told him about the overruns earlier, he would have instructed him to do exactly what he did.
Man shot dead in north Dublin named as John Lawless

Gardaí in Dublin are appealing for information after a man was shot dead this morning.
The shooting happened outside a house at Marigold Crescent in Darndale at around 6:30am on Friday morning.
39-year-old John Lawless - a father-of-three - was shot as he walked from his home on his way to work.
He was taken to Beaumont Hospital but he has since died. A post-mortem exam is being carried out this afternoon.
Talks aimed at putting a halt to nurses strike called off for the evening
Talks between the Government and nursing unions at the Labour Court have ended for the evening.
The negotiations, aimed at averting three days of strike action by nurses next week, began at 11am this morning.
As they wound down this evening, it was agreed that all sides would return tomorrow afternoon.
The INMO said that, while a lot of issues were discussed, next week’s strike action is still scheduled to go ahead.
Leader of so-called New IRA in Dublin jailed for life for murder of dissident republican
The leader of the so called new IRA in Dublin has been sentenced to life in prison for the murder of a dissident republican in Co Meath.
Peter Butterly was shot dead outside a pub in Gormanston almost six years ago.
This is the fourth time someone has been jailed for life for the murder of the dissident republican.
The 35-year-old father of three was chased and shot dead outside the Hunstman Inn in March 2013.
