Ivan Yates to leave Newstalk Breakfast presenter role

Newstalk Breakfast presenter Ivan Yates is set to leave the station.

He will be departing as of July 1st.

He has made a decision to withdraw from all of his media commitments due to personal reasons.

Commenting on his decision, Mr Yates said: "I began working at Newstalk seven years ago this month and have hugely enjoyed my time at the station".

Luas workers plan to strike six further days in April and May

Luas workers have served plans for six further days of strike action this month and in May.

There will be five full day strikes in April and May, as well as a four-hour stoppage on another day.

These will be on April 28th, May 4th, May 13th, May 20th, May 27th and a partial stoppage on May 26th.

This is in addition to the strikes due to take place on April 23rd and 24th.

Government orders new general election polling cards

The Department of the Environment has confirmed it has started a tendering process for new general election polling cards.

The Office of Government Procurement (OGP) has asked for a supply of "Polling Information Cards for General Elections / Bye Elections".

The tendering process closes on April 20th at midday.

Facebook announces expansion of new Meath data centre before construction even begins

Facebook have announced that they are expanding their data centre in Co Meath before it is even built.

The social networking site have turned the sod on the complex outside Clonee - which will see another building added to what the company previously announced.

When completed, it will be the size of 14 Aviva Stadiums.
