Trump set to meet Kim Jong-Un for second summit next month

The White House has said a summit between Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un is being planned for 'near the end of February'.

If it goes ahead it'll be the second time the two men have met, in the wake of their historic summit in Singapore last June.

Gardaí have begun a murder investigation after a man was shot dead in north Dublin.

It happened outside a gym on Applewood Close in Swords at 7.30pm on Thursday evening.

A man approached a slow moving car and fired a number of shots.

23-year-old Zach Parker, who was driving the car, was killed.

Boris Johnson has said the Irish backstop has "got to come out" of Britain's Brexit deal.

The former UK foreign secretary has said the withdrawal deal by British Prime Minister Theresa May is "deceased".

He also urged her to return to Brussels, as rescinding Article 50 is "pathetic".

Second phase of structural checks at 22 schools to get underway

The second phase of assessments at schools built by Western Building Systems has been given the go ahead by the Department of Education.

They follow the programme of initial structural assessments carried out in October and November last year at 42 schools built by the firm.

The inspections were ordered amid structural concerns over a number of school buildings.
