Kenny 'regrets' Fianna Fáil rejection of offer to serve in government

The acting Taoiseach Enda Kenny says he 'regrets' that Fianna Fáil turned down an offer to serve in a partnership government.

"I believe that this decision is a serious mistake and one which was driven by narrow party interests rather than the national interest", Mr Kenny said.

"Ireland needs a stable and lasting government to meet the many national and international challenges facing the country".

Alan Kelly asks leaders to meet Irish Water staff before any decision is made

The acting Environment Minister Alan Kelly is asking all political parties to meet with Irish Water workers before any decision is made over the future of the company.

Mr Kelly says he will be writing to the leaders of the Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael and other parties asking them to meet with workers.

It follows a meeting with the Ervia group of trade unions which took place in Dublin's Custom House.

Dublin bride-to-be collects lotto prize of over €120,000

A bride-to-be has won more than €120,000 in the National Lottery.

The Dublin winner arrived at Lottery HQ this morning to collect her cheque for €120,409.

She matched five numbers plus the bonus number in the Lotto draw on Wednesday April 6th.

Tonight at CityWest Dublin, the John Giles Foundation has organised a 'Freedom of Dublin' charity fashion show to raise money for the JGF and for the Capuchin Day Centre, which is run to help the homeless.

Before the event, the Leeds and Ireland legend dropped into Off The Ball for Thursday night football and before getting into the thick of the football action, reminisced about the fashion and music of the Swinging Sixties - a decade in which he was at Man United and Leeds.

John admitted his own interest in some of the memorable fashion choices of the '60s was muted in comparison to some of his team-mates.
