Tonight America will decide who is to replace Barack Obama in the White House and become the next President of the United States.

Presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump have presented very different visions of America's future as they staged their final campaign events.

The final day of campaigning saw Clinton at a huge rally in swing state Pennsylvania, where she was joined by President Obama and rock stars, Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi.

The ASTI have suspended their strike action after they accepted an invitation by the Chair of the Teachers’ Conciliation Council, Ms Anna Perry, to enter talks to explore possibilities to end the current industrial relations disputes.

The ASTI Standing Committee has accepted this invitation.

The ASTI has agreed to defer its directive on supervision and substitution and its strike action to facilitate this process for the duration of the talks.

456 patients are in need of a bed in hospitals across Ireland, according to the latest figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives’ Organisation.

University Hospital Limerick is the most overcrowded with 66 people on trolleys or on wards awaiting admission to a bed.

43 people are waiting on a trolley and in overflow areas of wards in University Hospital Galway with 36 at Our Lady of Lourdes in Drogheda.

Roy Keane has challenged Everton players to toughen up and took a swipe at the club today in the wake of James McCarthy's withdrawal from the international squad.

Ireland face Austria this weekend in Vienna and can go top of the group with victory, with Serbia facing a tough task against Wales.

Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday afternoon, Keane criticised the club for returning players to the international side with injuries in recent years under the stewardship of Roberto Martinez and told them to appreciate the the positive impact they have had on the club.
