A new poll in today's Sunday Times shows that Fianna Fáil would be the most popular party if we were to go back to the polls.

The party holds a 3-point lead over Fine Gael - with support for their party leader Enda Kenny also falling.

"This morning's poll by Behaviour & Attitudes, taken over the 11 days up to last Wednesday, shows if a second election were held over that time, Fianna Fáil would overtake Fine Gael to become the most popular party, with 27% of support."

The grieving family of Karen Buckley have issued a message of gratitude to all those in Ireland and Scotland, who have supported them following their daughter's tragic death.

Karen Buckley was murdered after she attended a nightclub in Glasgow last year. She was initially reported missing on April 12 and her body was discovered on a farm on the outskirts of the city following a four-day search.

"We wish to express our sincere gratitude to the very many people who went out of their way to help and support us at the time of her death and ever since. It was, and continues to be, very much appreciated by all of us and our extended family."

The Top Gear crew crashed a GAA match in Kerry on Saturday morning as they filmed the latest series of the show.

Matt Le Blanc and Chris Evans have been touring the Wild Atlantic Way for an episode of the sometimes controversial TV show this week, and landed at Dingle GAA club ahead of their match against An Gaeltacht.

A seasoned zookeeper has been mauled and killed by a tiger at a zoo in Florida.

Stacey Konwiser, who is otherwise referred to as the 'Tiger Whisperer' by her co-workers, suffered a 'severe bite' from one of the male tigers while preparing for a 'Tiger Talk' in front of a public audience.

Ms Konwiser was airlifted to a nearby hospital after she was attacked by the cat, where she was later pronounced dead as a result of her injuries.

The tiger was immediately tranquilised after the horrifying incident and the guests were evacuated with many of them huddling in the gift shop.

Michael O'Leary has advised the Irish public to stop voting for 'lunatics' in elections.

In an interview on RTE, the Ryanair CEO claimed that the Irish voters have a'depressing habit' of voting for those who present the biggest threats.

On the contributing power of Independent TD's, O'Leary said:

"Ultimately Independents do nothing. Independents are grandstanders. The worst governments we have had here is where they have been held to ransom by one or two independents."

He also issued some critical comments in the direction of Sinn Féin, focusing mainly on their taxation policies for high earners.

"The idea of someone like Sinn Féin [with a policy that states] well we’ll tax the super rich - they tried that in England and many other countries; you try to tax the super rich to some super extent [AND]we’ll all disappear, we’ll all go offshore."
