A girl who says she had a secret relationship with her teacher told police that he wanted her to meet his parents.

The 15-year-old described to officers how Twitter correspondence with Jeremy Forrest, 30, grew into a text relationship, which steadily became more flirty and serious, Lewes Crown Court heard.

It culminated in a sexual relationship, she said, with Forrest telling her that his marriage was over.

He told the girl he wanted her to meet his parents, and she suspected that he even showed them a picture of her.

"His parents wouldn't let him commit adultery so he thought it would be good if I saw them so that they knew his relationship with Emily was over," she said.

Abduction charges

Forrest is on trial charged with child abduction for fleeing Britain with her last year - he denies the charge. The girl in question cannot be named for legal reasons.

A recorded police interview was played to the court in which the girl said their relationship became sexual during the summer holidays.

She said Forrest felt "guilty" about it, and wanted to check that was what she wanted.

She said: "He knew he would go to prison, lose his job and not work with children again, so he was aware and that made me feel better.

Girl 'really' wanted to

"There was no naivety about it and it was what I wanted, and I probably encouraged it.

"We would bring it up and I would say 'Yeah, I really want to'."

She described how they first kissed in a classroom when she was 14 at Bishop Bell School in Eastbourne, East Sussex.

In the days leading up to the kiss, the teenager said she turned up at school early specifically to see him.

"It got to the point where there was only so much of a friendship you could have before it developed into something else."

She went on: "It ended up being in his classroom."

Picture above, the girl and her teacher sparked a Europe-wide search when they ran away to France last summer - seen here, they took the Ferry across the English channel together.
