Members of Ireland's frontline emergency services will march through Dublin today.

The event involves firefighters, ambulance crews, the Coast Guard, RNLI, Defence Forces, Civil Defence and gardaí.

K9 dog units and hi-tech search & rescue drones will also be brought out for the day.

The main courtyard of Trinity College will see participating services inviting the public to get up close and personal between 11am and 4pm.

A parade at noon, meanwhile, will see crews marching from Parnell Square to Trinity along O'Connell Street.

The pipe & drum bands from Dublin Fire Brigade, the National Ambulance Service and the Irish Prison Service will also pay tribute to the crew of Rescue 116.

The RNLI's Owen Medland says the day offers members of the public a chance to "come in and engage with the services, with the hardware, with the boats".
