An elderly woman has died following a road accident in Co Wexford.

It happened at around 3.20pm this afternoon at Ballyloughan, on the Gorey to Arklow Road.

Her car collided with a truck and the woman - who was the sole occupant of the vehicle - was pronounced dead at the scene.

As a result of the collision, exit 22 from the M11 motorway into Gorey is closed and local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to contact them.
