Three people including an American student have died during and more than 70 others have been injured in clashes between pro and anti government demonstrators in Egypt.
This weekend marks the first anniversary of Mohamed Morsi's election as president.
The US embassy has said it is moving out all non-emergency diplomatic staff as protests look set to continue through the weekend.
The unrest is seen by many as a prelude to mass anti-Morsi protests planned for tomorrow. June 30th marks his first year in office.
The protest was called by Tamarod, a grassroots movement which says it has more than 15 million signatures for a petition demanding Mr Morsi's resignation and a snap election.
