50 new tech jobs are on the way for Dublin.

Huawei is opening a new Research and Development office in the Digital Docklands at the IFSC.

The jobs will be created during the next 12 months and will bring the company's Irish workforce to 120.

The new office will expand its research into business innovation, network services, cloud and customer experience.

Huawei says it will be the lead R&D office in Ireland, working in conjunction with its other R&D locations in Dublin, Cork and Athlone.

The company will have invested €35m in R&D in the Irish economy in 2015.

Zhou Hong, president of the European Research Institute at Huawei, said: "Each year, Huawei invests at least 10% of its global revenue in R&D. The opening of our newest Dublin facility highlights our long term dedication to investment and opportunities in Ireland’s technology sector".

"The facility will tap into Dublin’s growing clusters of cloud and technology businesses, nurturing future talent and providing additional new opportunities for highly-skilled professionals," he added.

Huawei has been operating in the Irish market since May 2004 and currently works with all the major telecom providers in Ireland.
