Two men have been arrested after a garda was injured when a patrol car was rammed in Dublin early this morning.

It happened when officers were monitoring a jeep in Hillcrest Park in Glasnevin at around 6.00am.

It came after two men attempted to gain entry to a house in Whitehall and a shop in Santry overnight.

Gardaí signalled the jeep to stop but it failed to do so and rammed the patrol car.

One officer was injured but not seriously.
