A Dublin man who threatened to kill a woman and put her in the boot of his car is to be sentenced at the circuit court today.

Thomas McConnell of Dunemer Rise, Lusk made the threats to Louise Sheridan as she collected her son from school in August 2011.

It was a drugs debt, now settled, that prompted Thomas McConnell to threaten Louise Sheridan in Ballymun nearly 2 years ago.

She had spotted his car outside her son's school and had driven home the long way, hoping to avoid him only to find him waiting by her house in Ballymun.

He was looking for a man and when she said she didn't know where that man was McConnell threatened to kill her and put her in the boot of his car.

He even opened the boot to reveal a steel pole and hammer.

The 28 year old has 82 previous convictions and was on bail at the time for having head shop drugs for sale or supply at his home.

He has since apologised to his victim and has received treatment for drug addiction ahead of today's sentencing.
