The Dublin Gospel Choir is marking 30 years of music and community, with celebrations already under way and a busy performance schedule ahead for 2026.
The milestone was discussed on The Anton Savage Show, where the choir’s musical director Orla McGowan joined the programme alongside members of the choir in studio.
Speaking about the anniversary, McGowan said the group is “very excited to be celebrating 30 years” and revealed that the celebrations began with the Festival of Voice, which launched their anniversary tour.
The choir’s 2026 schedule includes performances at Glór in Ennis, Wexford Opera House and St Canice’s Cathedral in Kilkenny, as well as a special concert at St Mary of the Angels Church on April 26.

McGowan said the concert is particularly meaningful as it commemorates “the first ever performance” by the choir, describing their longevity as something rarely seen in music.
“Any family that can stay together for 30 years, or any set of friends and performers, is a big achievement,” she said, noting that few bands manage such endurance.
“We’ve reached the golden age where we’re all pretty nice, chill and mellow and we get on great.”
As the Dublin Gospel Choir celebrates three decades together, the anniversary year reflects the strong bonds that have kept the group singing together for 30 years.
