Dublin Fire Brigade says it has received multiple emergency calls about the fire this afternoon, with the smoke cloud visible across the city.
Anyone who lives near the site of the blaze is now being asked to close their windows to avoid any smoke or fumes getting into their homes.
Dublin Fire Brigade explained: "This type of fire produces a large volume of thick, toxic smoke, and for that reason we are asking for anyone in the immediate area, or downwind of the fire to close their windows and doors.
"It is especially important that anyone with pre-existing breathing problems do this."
