One of the country's biggest animals rights' groups is warning that puppies end up paying if you buy a cheap pet.
The DSPCA wants to bring an end to mass breeding which takes place on puppy farms and says pet lovers should look elsewhere for their dogs.
It's also claiming that up to half of the animals for sale online originate from puppy farms.

The statistics follow a BBC documentary during the week which exposed the horrendous conditions on the farms.
