Donegal county councillors have voted to accept a council budget for 2014.

14 Fine Gael, Labour and the Independent councillors introduced a new agreement proposal to support the budget - with some adjustments.

However 14 Sinn Féin and Fianna Fáil councillors voted against it.

Letterkenny Councillor and Mayor of Donegal Ian McGarvey used his casting vote and the budget was passed.

The 29 councillors in Donegal were set to be fired if they failed to reach agreement by midnight tonight.
