Dublin firefighters have rescued a dog who become trapped under a 40-foot container.

Fire officers based in Rathfarnham were called to help the dog, named Bambi, just before 5am this morning near Rathfarnham Castle Park.

Bambi had gone missing and was found stuck underneath the 40-foot container.

Firefighters then kept the pooch calm as they used tools usually reserved for road traffic collisions to free her.

They used a consaw for access and battery-powered cutting equipment to create space to free the pet.

Dublin Fire Brigade said they were then able to reunite Bambi unharmed with her 'worried' family.

Sounds like a pawfect ending....
