Iarnrod Eireann train services to and from Heuston station have returned to normal following earlier cancellations.

Travel was disrupted on Intercity and commuter lines following an incident in which a woman died after being hit by a train overnight.

The accident occured on the line between Adamstown and Hazelhatch shortly after midnight.

All Heuston Intercity services (to/from Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Galway, Westport, Waterford) were substituted by bus, initially between Heuston and Hazelhatch.

Commuter services between Heuston and Kildare had all been cancelled.
