A Dublin City Councillor is accusing the Department of the Environment of "ignorant incompetence" and preventing progress on the housing issue.
Speaking on Talking Point with Sarah Carey, Labour's Dermot Lacey also said the Rural Resettlement Scheme has been under utilised for people on the housing waiting list who wish to make a move.
Councillor Lacey says the Department has stopped a lot of projects, which would have helped to address the crisis, from going ahead:
“We make everything really awkward in this country... We need to stop the interference by the Department of the Environment because it's that, and I hate to use this word, ignorant interference, and indeed, incompetent, ignorant interference, that stops a lot of projects taking place.”
