A date has been provisionally set for the murder trial of Irish nanny Aisling Brady McCarthy for April 7th of next year.

Ms Brady McCarthy is originally from Co Cavan but has been living in the US for about 13 years.

She's charged with first-degree murder, assault and battery, causing the death of one-year-old Rehma Sabir in January.

The 34-year-old has pleaded not guilty to the charges, and is being detained without bail.

It's also reported that the prosecution has handed over new records to Ms Brady McCarthyÂ’s lawyers under the legal discovery process.
