Damon Albarn has revealed he's begun writing a West End musical. 

The Blur frontman told a newspaper it started as an experimental work but "lurched into a mainstream musical for families."

Damon's previously penned two operas: 'Dr Dee: An English Opera' and 'Monkey: Journey To The West'.

Earlier this year, Albarn said that Blur will definitely perform live again in the future.

"Everything is good between us all. I'm sure we'll play again at some point," he said. "It'd be mad to go the rest of our life and never play any of those songs again."

He also hinted at the possibility of a more upbeat Gorillaz album saying, saying: "I've found myself writing a lot of uptempo songs that sound like Gorillaz."
