Damien Dempsey is one of Ireland’s best-loved singers and songwriters.

He grew up in Donaghmede, in north Dublin, with his parents, Frank and Adrienne, and his older brothers, Emmet and Gary.

He started writing in his early teens, and studied in the Ballyfermot Rock School after his Leaving Cert.
