A cyclist has been killed in a road accident in Donegal.

The man in his 40s collided with a van at Moneydarragh on the Redcastle to Gleneely road shortly after nine this morning.

A second cyclist who was hurt in the incident was taken to Letterkenny General Hospital - but his injuries aren't thought to be life threatening.

The driver of the van escaped without harm.

The road is currently closed for a forensic exam at the scene.
