22,974 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported over the past three days.

The Department of Health has today published the case numbers for Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

On Saturday, 4,940 PCR-confirmed cases were reported, along with 3,650 positive antigen test results.

On Sunday, 4,331 cases were confirmed by PCR, while 2,950 people registered a positive antigen test result.

Meanwhile, 3,494 new PCR-confirmed cases are being reported today, along with 3,609 antigen test results.

The five-day moving average of new cases has fallen to 9,015 - down from 10,675 this day last week.

The latest figures show 665 patients with COVID-19 were in hospital this morning.

That's up from 609 yesterday, although hospital numbers often increase over the weekend due to delayed discharges.

As of today, there are 67 people with the virus being treated in intensive care.
