There have been 1,098 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Ireland today.

Today’s figure brings the five-day moving average of new cases to 1,359 - a slight drop compared to yesterday.

The latest figures from the HSE show there were 163 patients with confirmed cases of COVID-19 being treated in Irish hospitals this morning.

26 of those patients are being treated in intensive care.

Over 72% of adults have now been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, while around 10,000 people are said to have received a first dose at a walk-in vaccination centre yesterday.

Walk-in clinics are continuing today and tomorrow at many of the country's vaccination centres.
