The Central Criminal Court has heard that a Louth woman accused of killing her boyfriend in a drunken row stabbed him four times, followed him to the front door and refused to call an ambulance.
Paula Farrell, with an address at Rathmullen Park, Drogheda, Co Louth denies murdering Wayne McQuillan at her home on January 1 2014.
In earlier testimony, Paula Farrell alleged that Wayne McQuillan sexually assaulted her before she stabbed him in the early hours of the first of January 2014.
The prosecution put it to Ms Farrell this afternoon that this was a "monstrous lie" and asked her why she hadn't initially disclosed the accusation to Gardai, but waited a year to tell anyone.
The 42-year-old told admitted that she had a bit of a temper but insisted "it did happen."
The jury also heard details of Garda interviews with Ms Farrell, in which she described Wayne McQuillan as someone who "wasn't violent" and "wouldn't hit a woman."
In a statement two days after the incident, the mother of three told investigators that she couldn't remember who started the row, but it was "probably" her, she said; it was her most of the time.
