An issue with CCTV footage taken during a pub brawl at a city bar in January 2013 has led to a delay in the arraignment of a Dublin man charged with violent disorder.

Frederick Thompson from Loreto Road, Maryland was extradited from The Netherlands last month to face the charge.

Following his arrest in Amsterdam, he was brought back to Ireland on foot of a European arrest warrant.

He was due to enter a plea today but the court heard his lawyers have been unable to view the footage due to a technical problem.

As a result, his case has been adjourned until next month.

Thompson (33) applied to the High Court for bail earlier this month but gardai objected on a number of grounds.

Due to the seriousness of the alleged offence and the likely sentence upon conviction, they were concerned he would not show up for his trial.
