A couple from Co. Donegal have collected their lotto cheque for over €12.1 million. They are the latest and biggest Lotto jackpot winners of 2014.

The pair, who wish to remain anonymous, won the prize in the draw last Wednesday. The last time the jackpot reached near this amount was in March 2012.

The happy winners said today "This means a lot. We're on cloud nine".

The good news is still sinking in for the happy couple. They are looking forward to making plans, but have nothing definite planned at the moment.

The €12 winning ticket was purchased in American House on the Main Street in Bundoran. The winning line was a Quick Pick.

Back in August 2012, the same store sold a Euromillions Match 5 winning ticket worth €54,277.

50 Lotto jackpots have been won in Donegal since the game began in 1988. This latest win brings Donegal's total amount won in Lotto jackpot prizes to over €61.4 million.
