The three lives lost in a County Mayo yesterday have been named by Gardaí.

They are Una Bowden (47), Ciara Bowden (14) and Saoirse Bowden (9).

All three were killed yesterday around 2pm following a collision with another vehicle on the N17 at Castlegar.

Their post-mortems took place this morning at Mayo University Hospital and Gardaí say the results of these exams will not be released to the public for “operational reasons”.

Gardaí are asking for any witnesses of the crash to come forward, especially those who may have dash cam footage.

They also said they are aware of images of the crash scene circulating on social media and are asking that these images not be shared.
