There have been new 503 new cases of coronavirus confirmed in Ireland today.

As has been the case in the days since the HSE cyberattack, the Department of Health says the daily case numbers may change due to future data validation.

COVID-19 testing continues to be impacted by the cyberattack, with all testing centres currently operating on a walk-in basis as the usual referral and appointments system remains down.

The five-day moving average of new cases now stands at 405.

Today’s figures also show that there are 101 patients in Irish hospitals with COVID-19.

Of those, 38 are in intensive care.

It comes as the Government today gave a further update on reopening plans for the summer months.

Tánaiste Leo Varadkar said there’ll be no time limits on visits to pubs and restaurants when they reopen for outdoor dining, while the €9 ‘substantial meal’ requirement will also be dropped.
