A pedestrian has died after a fatal road traffic accident in Cork.
It happened on Wolfe Tone Square at midday when a truck collided with a female pedestrian aged in her early 70s.
The driver of the truck was uninjured.
Her body has been taken to Cork University Hospital, where a post mortem examination will take place.
A technical and forensic examination of the scene was carried out by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
The N71 at Wolfe Tone Square reopened after an earlier closure.
