Proposals on key reforms to the constitution will be put to a vote today. 

The Constitutional Convention is holding a ballot on whether to alter the clause in the Constitution which places special emphasis on the place of women in the home.

It will also vote on proposed measures to increase the participation of women in political and public life. 

Chairperson of the Constitutional Convention Tom Arnold says the group's recommendations will then be passed to the government.
