The Garda Commissioner Noirin O'Sullivan has announced major changes to the structure of the force, including the establishment of a number of new investigation units.
A new child protection, domestic violence and human exploitation unit is to be set up along with a strategic transformation officer to ensure the reforms are implemented.
The Garda National Drugs Unit is also to merge with the Organised Crime Unit.

New appointments have been made in divisions around the country and in Fraud, CAB, Immigration and Traffic.
