An alternative coalition of Fianna Fáil and Sinn féin is as popular with the electorate as the current Government.
A Millward Brown opinion poll for tomorrow's Sunday Independent shows a coalition of the two main opposition parties is now as popular as the current Government on 11%.
The poll also shows Fianna Fáil making gains - despite the publication of the 'Anglo Tapes', while Labour sees its support fall by three points again.
The state of the parties is:
* Fianna Fáil - 29% (27% last month)
* Fine Gael - 26% (27% last month)
* Sinn Féin - 19% (17% last month)
* Independents and Others - 19% (18% last month)
* Labour - 8% (11% last month)
The party support is also mirrored in satisfaction ratings for the leaders:
Three in four (75%) are unhappy with the coalition's performance - up again from last month - and Tánaiste and Labour leader Eamon Gilmore continues to fall foul of the electorate with just 16% believing he should stay in his job.
More than half of voters also feel the Seanad should be abolished, with almost a third believing the upper house should be reformed.
