Still looking to sort out that final Christmas gift for a hard-to-please family member or friend? We have you covered...

Throughout November and December, Newstalk's technology correspondent has been offering her recommendations for this year's best tech gifts.

Now, with just days left to go, the online ordering deadlines have passed and some of the most sought after presents (like the Playstation 5) are still like gold dust.

Don't fret, though: Jess has a few last-minute ideas that you should still be able to find in your local tech, phone or games shop.

Google Nest Mini

“They are so useful. If you’re stuck for a gift idea for someone, you can get these pretty much anywhere.

“They’re priced between €25-30 at the moment. If you have someone in your life who loves listening to the radio, podcasts or music, or someone who wants to start their smart home… this is the ideal way to go.

“I know some people are freaked out about the idea of a smart assistant… but if you have a smartphone, you’re halfway there anyway.”

Galaxy Buds2

“These are the most comfortable earbuds, and the sound quality is really good.

"I’m a bit of an audio snob… I like my radio, music and podcasts to sound as full as possible. There are plenty of more expensive earbuds, and cheaper ones too. But these are €159, and if you know somebody who is a bit of an audio snob… these are just great.

“The battery life is incredible - I’d only charge these every 3-4 days, and I wear them the entire time. They’re also super handy for people looking to make or take calls.”

Nintendo Switch

“I have all the consoles and I think the one I get most joy out of is the Nintendo Switch.

“There’s the Switch (€299) and the Switch Lite (€239) - the key difference is the Switch Lite’s side controllers don’t come off, so it’s very much a handheld console only. They're both excellent.

“If somebody has their heart set on a console and aren’t tied to any particular platform… go for the Switch.”

Cricut Joy

“It’s my favourite gadget of the year… I would highly recommend it.

“Depending on where you buy it, it’s around €180.”
