A child who died in a quad bike accident near Castlegregory in County Kerry has been named. 

Five-year-old George Francis Freddie Davenport of Folkestone, Kent and Liscarney, Cloghane, Kerry, died on Sunday afternoon.

Gardaí and emergency services were called to the scene and have since appointed a family liaison officer to help his relatives.

George will repose at his grandparents' home in Cloghane on Wednesday and a private burial will follow.

On RIP.ie his family wrote that he will be “Sadly missed by his heartbroken family, his parents, brothers and sister, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family, relatives and friends.”
