Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a carjacking outside a hospital in Dublin yesterday morning.

A nurse is reported to have been dragged from her car by a man who then fled the scene in the vehicle.

At about 6:30am yesterday, a night nurse at Temple Street Children's Hospital was attacked after she moved her car from the hospital carpark to on-street parking to make way for day staff.

The mother of two, who is aged in her 30s, is understood to have been thrown from the car by the man who made his getaway in it.

The Irish Independent reports that the raider also attempted to assault other staff members who came to the aid of the nurse.

Her car was later found burnt out in the Store Street area.

No arrests have been made yet, but gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
