The family of Captain Tom Moore says he has died at the age of 100
It comes after he recently tested positive for COVID-19.
The Second World War veteran raised over €30m for the UK's NHS as it battled to cope with the coronavirus crisis.
He was knighted at Windsor Castle last year for his efforts.
Last week, the family announced via Twitter that Captain Moore was admitted to hospital after being treated for pneumonia and testing positive for COVID-19.
They announced his death via social media this afternoon.
