The survival rates for many forms of cancer in Ireland and the UK are shorter than the European average.
A new report from EUROCARE shows rates were particularly shorter for colonic, ovarian and kidney cancer.
However, our survival rates are above average when in comes to cancer of the rectum, breast and prostate, as well as melanoma of the skin and lymphomas.
