David Cameron has been criticised after a picture published on the official 10 Downing Street Facebook page was digitally enhanced to show him wearing a poppy.
The profile picture is identical to one uploaded several years ago with one addition - a red commemorative flower on the Prime Minister's chest.
The photo was hastily removed after the apparent botch job was mocked across social media.
Ben Ralph wrote underneath the now-deleted post: "Is Photoshopping an unrealistic looking poppy onto a profile pic really respecting the country's fallen?"
Another Facebook user, Matt Davies, added: "You'd think you had at least one servant that could use Photoshop properly."
Danny Burchell chipped in: "Would've been quicker to just take a new pic instead of Photoshopping a poppy."
Downing Street has yet to comment but a new picture of Mr Cameron wearing a real poppy has now been uploaded.
