The California Supreme Court has cleared the way for a sexual abuse lawsuit to go ahead against Bill Cosby.

The charges relate to allegations made by a woman, now in her 50s, who claims she was sexually assaulted in 1974 in Los Angeles.

The entertainer's lawyers had been trying to prevent the case going to court.

Mr Cosby denies all allegations relating to a number of women.
