Dublin-based animation company Brown Bag Films has announced a new deal with Scholastic UK, the publishers behind The Hunger Games series.

The pair will enter a 'mutual first-look deal' - the animation firm will bring its original content to Scholastic to explore publishing opportunities - in exchange new books will be shared with Brown Bag with potential for development.

Brown Bag Films’ co-founder and Chief Creative Officer Darragh O’Connell said: "Brown Bag Films has a great track record of bringing much-loved books to the screen, and Scholastic UK’s vast experience and expertise in publishing for children means they are the perfect partner to continue doing this with."

The Dublin firm is behind a number of iconic short animations - it has received two Oscar-nominates for Granny O'Grimm's Sleeping Beauty and Give Up Yer Aul Sins.

It also produces the children's TV shows Doc McStuffins, Octonauts, Henry Hugglemonster, Peter Rabbit and Bing.

Brown Bag is currently working on a new series called The Stinky & Dirty Show for Amazon Studios.
