An Army Bomb Disposal Team has made safe a viable improvised shotgun in Co Longford.

Gardaí called the team after a suspect device was found in a cemetery in Ballymaccormick

The scene was sealed off just before 2 o'clock today.

The device was examined by bomb disposal experts who confirmed it as an improvised shotgun.

The improvised shotgun was rendered safe and handed over to gardaí.
