A body has been recovered from the river Suir on the Waterford Kilkenny border.

Gardaí are not treating the death as suspicious.

It's understood the grim discovery was made this afternoon.

Emergency services attended the scene near Thomastown.

The remains have been removed to University Hospital Waterford where a post mortem will be carried out tomorrow.
