Gardaí are investigating the discovery of man's body in Louth Village early this morning.

The remains of the 35-year-old were found at the side of the road in Carnalogue.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda.

Gardai in Ardee are appealing to anyone who travelled the road at Carnalogue between, a quarter past 4 and a quarter to five this morning, to contact Ardee Garda Station.
