Easter egg hunts are one of the most popular family activities around this time of year, but one American egg hunt ended with a startling discovery.
As reported by the local WBIR TV station, a woman from Knoxville had noticed a strong smell around her house for a few days prior to the grim find. A person mowing the lawn had been tasked with trying to track down the source of the odour, but to no avail.
It was only during an Easter egg hunt organised for her four-year-old child that the woman finally managed to follow the smell and discover the male corpse beneath the decking. It was located almost 20 feet from the decking's outer edge.
According to WBIR, the police suspect the as-yet unidentified man died from natural causes, but are awaiting the results of an autopsy before confirming the cause of death.
