Twitter users in Belgium last night complied with police requests to keep details of major terror raids confidential - by tweeting hundreds of cat pictures instead.
Belgian authorities had asked people not to reveal details about police activity on social media during anti-terror raids, which led to 16 arrests.
The tweets - under the #BrusselsLockdown hashtag - included spoof photos such as suspect cats being arrested and armed 'sniper cats'.
The best pictures were widely retweeted by other users, with people from around the world joining in too. Others praised the Belgian tweeters for 'not giving in to fear' as Brussels remained on the highest terror alert level.
