Two men have been arrested in Dublin following the discovery of an explosive device in Belfast in June.

The men - who are both in their 40s - are being held at a Dublin Garda station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

An improvised device was found under a PSNI officer's car at Shandon Park Golf Club on June 1st.

A tournament which was being held at the club at the time was cancelled, and at least 70 people were evacuated.

Today's arrests are said to be linked to "enquiries being carried out by An Garda Síochána and the Police Service of Northern Ireland".
